70 per cent of Ukrainians agree with Yanukovych impeachment – Social Research Institute

An overwhelming majority of Ukrainians expressed a positive attitude toward the possible impeachment of ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, the Ukrainian daily Liga.net wrote March 12.

“Almost 70 percent of Ukrainians expressed positive opinions regarding the ousting of Yanukovych during a survey held by the Social Research Institute of A. Yaremenko together with the Social Monitoring center,” the paper wrote.

The survey was held between March 1-6 and involved 2,099 respondents from all regions of Ukraine.

On Feb. 22, Ukrainian Parliament ousted Yanukovych from his position and called early elections for May 25, the Ukrainian newspaper Fakty reported.
