Medicover, Allenort to invest in Polish healthcare

International medical group Medicover and its Polish counterpart Allenort announced a new project to build a highly-specialized new hospital in Warsaw, Polish daily Puls Biznesu reported Sept. 14.

“The demand for specialized healthcare services reimbursed by the National Health Fund is in its peak,” CEO of Medicover in Poland Pawel Kacprzyk told the press. “Cooperation with our partner will allow the facility run by Medicover to broaden its scope of expertise adding cardio surgery to it.”

The new hospital will be run by Allenort and specialize in cardio surgery. The facility should start operating before the end of 2012 and will be located on the premises of one of Medicover’s Warsaw healthcare facilities.

The companies did not disclose the value of the transaction.

Medicover announced revenues from its Warsaw facilities came to PLN 35 mln in 2011. Medicover’s board of directors expect revenues to increase by 20-percent this year.
