The former vice-president on the development and commercialization of the Skolkovo Foundation became a suspect in an embezzlement case in April 2013. In May the same year his functions in the foundation were suspended. And in the beginning of 2015 he left for the US, Lenta.ru wrote.

Alexei B., suspected of tunneling USD 750,000 from the Skolkovo Foundation, officially faced charges in June 2015. He managed to tunnel money out in cooperation with a State Duma deputy, Ilya P., according to investigators.

Ilya P. allegedly undertook a research work in the interests of the foundation for which he was paid USD 450,000. For an additional USD 300,000 he gave 10 lectures on the commercialization of new technologies.

Investigators claimed that the deputy’s reports did not represent any scientific value and his lectures did not cover the topic of the course.

Ilya P., who currently lives abroad, denied all charges, the media reported.
