An employee, who works for a Swiss drug maker Novartis, pleaded guilty in a bribery case involving improper payment, which is been investigated by Poland’s anti-corruption bureau, the media portal, 7 news, wrote, quoting Novartis, Oct. 10.

“Two women had appeared in court in a bribery case, according to which they gave a health fund official a tourist trip worth more than USD 1,000 in exchange for backing the sale of a particular medicine,” according to the Poland’s anti-corruption bureau. “Both defendants pleaded guilty.”

Swiss-based Novartis confirmed that one of the two women was the company’s employee, who had been put on leave.
