Baltic states’, including:  Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian diplomats claimed on a briefing in Kiev about their countries’ readiness to declare self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR) as terroristic organizations, the Ukrainian daily media Fakty.ua wrote citing Ukrinform on Aug. 5.

“The ambassador of Latvia to Ukraine, Argita Daudze, claimed that Latvia is ready to declare the two self-proclaimed republics on the East of Ukraine as terrorist groups,” the media wrote. “Petras Vaitiekunas, the Lithuanian ambassador, and Ulla Uibo, a deputy ambassador of Estonia also confirmed their countries’ readiness to declare DNR and LNR as terroristic groups.”

The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine declared DNR and LNR terrorist organizations on May 16. Separatists from the so-called pseudo republics proclaimed independence in the beginning of May.

On July 19, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the world must declare DNR and LNR as terrorist organizations. On July 22, the European Council expressed its readiness to consider this issue.
