Kiev militia officers massively quit jobs citing that by “pressure and political persecution,” the Ukrainian business daily Gazeta.ua wrote referring the Ministry of Interior, July 31.

“The police officers explained that they, in particular criminal investigation officers, are subjected to political persecution,” the paper wrote. “The law enforcement officers claimed that they were accused of close and direct cooperation with Viktor Yanukovych’s regime.”

Dozens of officers of at least eight District Departments of Central Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kiev have submitted their reports on dismissal.

Currently, the situation with the militia officers’ reports on dismissal remains unknown because the militia departments already lack experienced staff, according to a source from the Ministry of Interior.
