Azarov will be hunted by Interpol
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov was added to international most wanted list on request of the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office, according to a press release referring the Ministry of Interior, published July 3.
“Nikolay Azarov, who was declared wanted on the territory of Ukraine in the mid-April, was added to Interpol’s most wanted list on suspicion of abuse of authority while holding an official position,” according to the acting head of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Oleg Makhnitsky. “His name appeared in one of the open criminal proceedings and he was informed about it.”
Azarov is also on the list of government officials against whom the European Union has imposed sanctions. Nevertheless, the former prime minister seeks for their cancellation.
