Bulgarian human trafficking ring busted by French police

French police uncovered a human trafficking ring, which sent workers from Bulgaria to France and Portugal, Sofia news agency novinite.com reported April 1.

“The investigation uncovered an organized trafficking ring, which had been sending workers from Bulgaria to France,” the news agency wrote.

Two people were arrested after police received an anonymous tip off that a Bulgarian citizen was making fake IDs in Bordeaux, France.

The workers caught in the scam were being sold to Portuguese human traffickers for a reported EUR 150 per head. The nature of their subsequent employment was not revealed to the media.
